Jordan, Carolyn

Carolyn Jordan has had a distinguished law career and more than 25 years experience in developing federal government financial policy and programs, specializing in financial institutions, mortgage finance, secondary market activities and international trade finance. She served as legislative assistant to Senate Majority Whip Alan Cranston (D–Calif.) and then as counsel for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, which Senator Cranston chaired. For this committee, she was staff director for the Financial Institutions, Securities and Small Business Subcommittees. She handled all housing and economic matters before the committee and represented it and the U.S. Treasury at the African, Asian and European Development Bank meetings around the world, participating in World Bank meetings and conferences as well. After leaving the U.S. Congress, she served as executive director of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA is responsible for chartering and regulating federal credit unions and insuring member deposits in both federal and state chartered credit unions. Attorney Jordan also held the position of senior vice-president of Pryor, McClendon, Counts and Company, an investment banking firm. There she specialized in government paper, corporate finance, international trade, project finance and government relations. Currently she is president of C&J Enterprise and is on the board of Independence Federal Savings Bank.
