Huffman, Alice A.

Alice Huffman is president and chief executive officer of A.C. Public Affairs, Inc., a California corporation that specializes in issue campaign management, strategic public policy and planning, grassroots advocacy and public-affairs programs. Ms. Huffman is a member of the Democratic National Committee and has distinguished herself as chair of the 2004 National Convention Site Selection Committee. She serves as a national board member of the NAACP and is president of the California State Conference of the NAACP. Her professional career has included serving as associate executive director of the California Teachers Association, where she managed six lobbyists, trained teachers in campaign strategy and managed an annual million-dollar political action committee. She also served the citizens of California when she was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to be the chief deputy director of state parks; he then appointed her to the Cabinet-level position of director of the Office of Economic Opportunity.
